There is more than plenty for everyone to have enough.
To put it flatly, food waste is an abomination. There are so many people that frequently and perpetually experience hunger, globally and near you, right now. The fact that literal tons of food is being thrown away, is an insult to human decency.
The Mutual Aid Brigade is working with farmers, bakers, grocers and local folx to find the excess on it’s way to being turned into more waste and brings it to the people.
It’s not just food we pick up and distribute. It’s clothing, hygiene items, medicine, first aid, anything the people need, we seek out and deliver. With collaboration with food banks, pantries, other helpful projects and our neighbors we are making our little steps for big changes.
Serving Josephine, Jackson and Douglas counties. These are the unceded first nations territories of Legawa-Tekelma, Cow Creek, Shasta, Modoc, Karuk, Klamath. We hope to inspire this way of care as activism, to honor the people and this living Land we live on.
